Spicy turkey cabbage bowls

A delicious and healthy dish featuring spicy turkey served in cabbage bowls, perfect for a satisfying meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 medium head of cabbage
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 bell pepper, diced
  • 1 can diced tomatoes (14.5 oz)
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  2. Add chopped onion and garlic, sauté until translucent.
  3. Add ground turkey, cook until browned.
  4. Stir in bell pepper, diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
  5. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until flavors meld.
  6. Meanwhile, carefully remove cabbage leaves and blanch in boiling water for 2-3 minutes.
  7. Fill each cabbage leaf with the turkey mixture.
  8. Garnish with fresh cilantro and serve warm.

Notes

  • For extra spice, add red pepper flakes to the turkey mixture.
  • Can substitute ground turkey with ground chicken or beef.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
