  • 1 cup grits
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 pound shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 4 slices bacon, chopped
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. In a pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil and add the grits. Cook according to package instructions until creamy.
  2. In a skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove and set aside, leaving the drippings in the pan.
  3. Add the shrimp to the skillet and season with garlic, paprika, salt, and pepper. Cook until shrimp are pink and cooked through.
  4. Stir in the chicken broth and heavy cream, and let simmer for a few minutes.
  5. Mix in the cooked grits and butter, stirring until well combined.
  6. Serve hot, topped with crispy bacon and chopped green onions.
