Delicious red velvet cinnamon rolls that are soft, fluffy, and topped with a sweet glaze, perfect for any occasion.

  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the buttermilk, vegetable oil, egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. Roll out the dough on a floured surface into a rectangle.
  6. Spread softened butter over the dough, then sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon.
  7. Roll the dough tightly and cut into rolls.
  8. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for 30 minutes.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  10. Mix powdered sugar and milk to create a glaze and drizzle over the warm rolls.

Notes

  • For a richer flavor, add a pinch of nutmeg to the filling.
  • These rolls can be made ahead and stored in the refrigerator overnight before baking.
