Grilled tofu peanut sauce

A delightful dish featuring grilled tofu served with a rich and creamy peanut sauce, perfect for a healthy meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 block firm tofu, pressed and sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup water (to thin sauce)
  • Chopped peanuts and cilantro for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix olive oil, soy sauce, and garlic powder. Marinate the tofu slices in this mixture for at least 15 minutes.
  3. While the tofu is marinating, prepare the peanut sauce by whisking together peanut butter, soy sauce, honey or maple syrup, rice vinegar, sesame oil, and water until smooth.
  4. Grill the marinated tofu slices for about 5-7 minutes on each side, or until grill marks appear and the tofu is heated through.
  5. Serve the grilled tofu drizzled with peanut sauce and garnish with chopped peanuts and cilantro.

Notes

  • For a spicier sauce, add a pinch of red pepper flakes or sriracha.
  • Ensure the tofu is well-pressed to remove excess moisture for better grilling.
  • This dish can be served over rice or with a side of vegetables.
