A delicious and creamy cheesy cabbage gratin topped with garlic butter, perfect for a comforting side dish.

  • 1 medium head of cabbage, chopped
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large pot, boil the chopped cabbage for about 5 minutes until slightly tender, then drain.
  3. In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the minced garlic until fragrant.
  4. In a large mixing bowl, combine the boiled cabbage, sautéed garlic, heavy cream, half of the cheese, salt, pepper, and paprika.
  5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and top with the remaining cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the top is golden and bubbly.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes.
